Anniversary Gifting Guide

Gemstones are worn and loved for a number of reasons – including their symbolic significance. For centuries, gemstones have been associated with different wedding anniversaries, and are gifted between significant others, to symbolise their everlasting love.

If you have an anniversary coming up – a bespoke piece of jewellery with your celebratory gemstone might be a beautiful way to commemorate the date!

Whilst it isn’t a gemstone – the traditional gift for the first anniversary is gold. Simple and devine, gold is associated with the sun and the heart. It is a gift of true affection, and is symbolic of enlightenment. A timeless piece of jewellery from our collection can make for a perfect first anniversary gift. If you want to go the extra mile to make it personal, you can have your jewellery engraved with your own handwriting.

One of the most popular gemstones in the KIND studio – sapphires are loved for their eternal beauty, and diversity. Not only do they come in a range of deep blues, sapphires are also available in almost every colour (except red – which is then classified as a Ruby). Sapphires are the second hardest gemstones (after diamonds), and symbolise the unbreakable bond between a married couple, and is traditionally gifted on the 5th anniversary. The Rainbow Horizon Bar Necklace is a beautiful choice to celebrate this anniversary, as is the Margot Vintage Ring, or a bespoke design.

Representing strength and eternity, pearls are the traditional symbol for those celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. Born from strength and connected to the ocean, pearls symbolise innocence, faith and honesty.

A 40th anniversary is certainly something to celebrate – and what better way to do so than with the traditional anniversary gemstone, the ruby. The deep red colour of the ruby is known to represent romance, devotion and passion – all qualities that make it such a special stone.
