Engagement rings

At KIND, our aim is to create meaningful and long lasting pieces of jewellery for our customers – which is why we have such a soft spot for making wedding and engagement rings. The celebration of love and commitment is something so powerful, and we always feel so honoured to be a part of the journey.

Jewellery can be so personal and hold so much sentimental value, which is why it is important to design a ring that is unique to you, and your relationship. Whilst some couples prefer the proposal to be a surprise for their partner, many come to us as a couple ready to design their engagement rings together.

Whichever path you decide to go down, there are a lot of things to consider when designing an engagement ring – but the first step should always be to set a budget. Once you have a budget in mind, Tansy can help you create a stunning ring that wont break the bank. There is no right or wrong amount to spend on an engagement ring (and the myth that a ring should cost the equivalent of 3 months salary, is total rubbish). We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again (probably quite a few times), that your wedding and engagement rings should be highly personalised to you, and that includes how much you intend to spend on them.

Tansy will be here for you every step of the way, to make sure your ring is exactly what you had envisioned. From the stone’s cut and setting, to the metal and engraving – your ring should tell a story. Choosing the right gemstone can be quite a challenge, so it is always good to have a bit of an idea in mind of the general ring style.

Contrary to popular belief, diamonds aren’t a girls bestfriend – you are (that’s why she’s marrying you!). So don’t get yourself stuck in the mindset that your engagement ring HAS to be a diamond. There are so many beautifully coloured stones out there that hold just as much meaning and sentimental value as a diamond, and it might be the right fit for you.

A particularly special and sentimental part of our business is our Recycle + Rework services. If you or your partner have inherited jewellery over time, and would like to include those stones and metals in your engagement/wedding rings, then we can certainly help you with this. Family heirlooms can be incredibly meaningful, and can be redesigned into a piece that is unique to you, and will become embroidered into the story of your life.

We have had the pleasure of designing so many wonderful engagement rings for men and women over the years, and we have loved how powerful and unique each story is.

If you are ready to discuss your engagement and wedding ring ideas – please get in touch! Our bespoke appointments have just become available, and can be made online. If you have an idea in mind for your ring, we encourage you to bring it along to this appointment. If you are feeling a little overwhelmed and need a little bit of inspiration, Tansy will help you find a style that feels right for the two of you.
