WANDERING KIND - SRI LANKA
KIND Jewellery was dreamt up beneath the coconut trees on the mellow Sri Lankan shores so it was only right the KIND’s Founder, Tansy Haak, shared her favourite spots in the Southern Provence of the beautiful Island. A country so full of magic that her and her family just can’t resist returning to year on year…
Wandered / The Colonial Streets of Galle Fort and lost ourselves in the amazing array of beautiful Sri Lankan antiques. The Galle Museum houses an amazing collection of treasures and you can see skilled jewellers using traditional stone cutting and polishing techniques which are simply amazing!
Ate / Sri Lanka is Seafood Central, with fresh fish restaurants and markets lining the shores. A favourite is the market on Weligama Beach where you can choose your fish, prawns & crab and have it cooked right there and then for you to eat on the beach, beneath the stars, amongst the fishing boats and oil lanterns. It is more than magical!
Drank / Fresh Coconuts for breakfast, Lazy afternoon Lion Beers and sunset G&Ts on our favourite beach in the world… Hiriketiya Bay.
Shopped / For matching handmade dresses for Isla Zee and me and stunning sapphires from local traders with a deep knowledge of the mineral rich country.
Soaked in / The vibrant colours, smells and flavours of a country that has stolen my heart. The heavenly atmosphere on Hiriketiya Bay and whiling away the weeks swimming, eating Rotti, practicing yoga, surfing & making dens for Isla Zee on the beach.
