Lockdown Loving - Popping that question...

When it comes to relationships and the pressure the global pandemic has put on them, it’s fair to say the phrase ‘make or break’ sprang to mind at the prospect of 12+ weeks in isolation. But whilst lockdown has been an intense learning curve for all, it has been a time of love and support countrywide, and for many this time has brought them closer together. With more engagement ring commissions being worked on in the KIND studio than ever before, we thought it was time to share a few tips and ideas with you!

So, whether you are thinking of popping that question to your lady or fella, have decided as a pair that you want to officially celebrate your love or you have recently become engaged, this blog is for you…

Bespoke Wedding & Engagement Ring design

Design

At KIND Collection, we know how special this time is, and we want to help you design a ring that is as unique as your togetherness. Our wedding & engagement rings are made to order, specially for you and staying true to the KIND ethos, our bespoke pieces are only made with ethically and environmentally sound materials. So if you are looking for a little bit of inspiration to get your design process on the way, look no further.

Diamonds

All of the stunning diamonds that we source at KIND, are ethically mined by Canadamark or recycled from old pieces of jewellery. Canada Mark diamonds are all authenticated, and they are responsibly mined with respect for the environment and the people living within the community. Their transparent mining processes are available for all to see online (which we absolutely love!) - so you can feel proud to celebrate your engagement (and other life milestones) knowing that your diamonds have been fairly sourced.

We are lucky enough to work on some truly stunning rings, encapsulating colours from a variety of amazing natural stones. Whilst sticking to the traditional diamond, might be what some are looking for - others may prefer a more colourful approach. Our aim is to make designs that truly reflect your character, there is no right or wrong when it comes to the shape, size or colour of the gems that you include in your engagement ring - just whatever suits your style.

Gemstones

We work with ethically mined gemstones sources from all over the world. There are some really fantastic projects to buy from which are paving the way to a fairer future for the mining industry. We are proud to work with a number of dealers that champion that change and work to empower both the mining communities and the consumer. SO whatever precious gemstones you are looking to work with we can source stones which can be traced right back to their origins.

Stoneless Engagement Rings

If the bling isn’t for you - that’s not a problem either. We have worked on some beautiful designs for men and women would prefer a simpler approach. Our stoneless rings can be made in 9ct, 18ct or platinum, and they will shine just as bright without any gems.

KIND Vintage Engagement Rings

Our KIND Vintage Collection also make for gorgeous engagement rings - and they are a great way to shop sustainably, as you are giving an existing piece of jewellery a new lease on life. The fine rings in this carefully curated section of the website have been sourced in the UK, and polished/mended in the KIND London studio.

Lastly - but absolutely not least, how about including your own gems? Part of the KIND ethos is too recycle and reuse, so why not reinvent an old family heirloom by including the preloved stones into your engagement ring.

KIND Recycle x Rework

We always love a good news story - especially with the way of the world at the moment. So if you are recently engaged, we would love to hear from you.

With love,

KIND Collection xx
